Buon Anno! Happy New Year to you all! Are you ready for some new happenings at the Club? Family Dinners are back and better than ever, in all their glory after a January break due to the busy events calendar.
As most of you know the Family Dinner has been a recurring event for years and on the last Saturday of each month. It is the only principally member-attended event and personifies what our founders envisioned for our Club. They were originally planned as a Club event in the tradition of the weekly Sunday dinner that most of us grew up with.
In the coming months, keep an eye on the newsletter for some special menus including Risotto con Piselli with Roast Beef and Italian “Sunday Sugo” with Polenta just to name a few. Stuffed Pork Chops, Scallopini, Tortellini, and Prime Rib are a few other great dishes prepared by our Club’s fabulous chefs.
Entertainment offered will include some of our favorites and also some new performances. You of course know George Campi and Romano Marchetti. Back by popular demand will also be Gary Sevelli, the singing DJ and Sam Ferano and the Nob Hill Sounds.
Coming early in the year on March 29, is a new band that is sure to be a sellout; the lively Borelli Italian Band (please see the flyer enclosed with this newsletter). Here’s some brief background on Ron Borelli and the band.
Ron Borelli began his love for music and entertainment through his parents. His father played tenor sax professionally; his mother played stride piano. Other members of the Borelli family played instruments as well, including accordion, clarinet, mandolin and drums. As a young boy, Ron would attend engagements where his father’s popular band, the Al Borelli Orchestra, would be performing. Throughout San Francisco, the Peninsula and East Bay, the Borelli Italian Band is in demand for weddings, parties and social occasions, Italian Festas and more! Carole Borelli, Ron’s sister is the featured vocalist.
With new themes, menus, and entertainment, how can you resist? Get the family out of the house; what a great and easy way to gather everyone together. Buon affare e divertimento (Great value and great fun)! Call today and make your reservations… You and your family will not regret it!
A last note about Family Dinner scheduling:
Please be aware that the Family Dinners for February, March, and April will occur at earlier times. Cocktail hour will begin at 4:30 pm and Dinner at 5:30 pm. The change will help in coordination of band or entertainment performance. Grazie!
